How to Know What Size Tire You Need

There is no universal tire size. Each vehicle can only fit certain sizes of tires. There are three ways you can tell what size tire you need for your vehicle. The information can be found in your owner's manual, a sticker on your driver-side door. or the tires you have on now. If you are using the information from your sticker or the tires themselves, make sure that the new tires you are buying have specifications that align with that information. You can also ask us, we can do a simple search of your vehicle's make, model, and year to determine what size is needed for your tire. 

Tips for Prolonging the Life of Your Tires

 While we drive, the tire tread slowly gets worn down until the tires become bald. When this happens, tires are no longer safe to use and must be replaced. In fact, by law, you must have a certain level of tread on a tire for your vehicle to pass inspection. Tires are expensive though and we want to get the most out of them. So, here are some tips to help you prolong the life of your tires:


  • Proper Tire Pressure: Tires that are overinflated will cause the tread to wear out much faster than normal while underinflated tires will damage the tire and your rims. Properly inflated tires provide the correct amount of protection for your rims while also not overusing your tire tread.


  • Tire Rotations: When a tire is left in one spot during its lifetime, only a certain portion of the tread is utilized and not the whole thing. This means that your tire tread will unevenly wear and need to be replaced soon. We recommend rotating your tires every time you get an oil change.


  • Balance Tires: Much like tires that are not rotated, unbalanced tires also experience uneven treadwear. If you notice your tires excessively shaking or pulling to one side, they may be misaligned.
